Morehead, Ky. -- Morehead State's
Laura Toffali has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year for the 2025-26 season. Toffali was honored along with Addi Brownfield of Western Illinois.

Toffali led the Ohio Valley Conference with 94 steals on the season, just one shy of tying the Morehead State record for thefts in a campaign. Eagle great Chynna Bozeman set the record of 95 in the 2010-11 season.

Toffali ranks tied for 11
th in the country in steals. Her 3.03 steals per game rate ranks 18
th in the nation. Toffali set a career-high with nine steals against Kentucky Christian on December 28, believed to be a program record.

Toffali posted six games with five or more steals, including the last two of the season against Southern Indiana and at Little Rock in the season finale.
Toffali is the third player in program history to be named the OVC's Defensive Player of the Year. MSU's Veronica Charles was the last Eagle to be honored after the 2022-23 season. Ariel Kirkwood won in 2019-20.
