MOREHEAD, Ky. -- No other track and field athlete in Morehead State history has earned more Ohio Valley Conference in-season honors than Eagle freshman Kalynn Pease, and the honors have not slowed down. Pease earned the league's outdoor Female Freshman of the Week accolade this week.

Pease, from nearby Flemingsburg, Ky., upped her weekly award total to seven.

She set her fourth school record this spring as the Eagles competed at the Lee University Fast Break Invitational in Cleveland, Tenn. She won the 200 meter event in 24.07, shattering her personal best by more than a second.

Pease also holds the school records in the 100-meter and long jump and was part a record-setting 4x100 meter relay team.

Earlier in the season, Pease was named the OVC's Female co-Track Athlete of the Week, Female Field Athlete of the Week and Female Freshman of the Week, becoming the first known individual in OVC history to win three Athlete of the Week awards in any sport in the same week. After the Raleigh Relays, she garnered Field Athlete of the Week and Freshman of the Week. Following the opening week of the indoor season, Pease was named the Freshman of the Week.

Pease's long jump school record of 6.22 earlier this year is currently the 40th best mark in the nation and ranks among the top 25 in the East region. The top 48 marks in each region qualify for the NCAA Regional championship events in late May.

Morehead State's next competition is the Lenny Lyles Invitational in Louisville, Ky., April 24-25.
