MOREHEAD, Ky. --
Morehead State women's golf posted the best team round of all nine competing schools at the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Tuesday, but unfortunately for the Eagles, the first two days spelled trouble, and MSU finished second at the championship event in Dalton, Ga.

In third place heading into the final 18 holes at the Dalton Golf and Country club, MSU trimmed nine strokes off its deficit behind first place, held by Little Rock. The Eagles jumped over Tennessee Tech to claim second place with a final team tally of 322-319-294--935. MSU was the only team to record a sub-300 team round in the three days. Little Rock and MSU have now traded conference titles in the last four seasons as this marked the Trojans' final year in the OVC.

Individually, the Eagle lineup was forced to make an adjustment when senior Amelia Rae Greenlee had to withdraw due to injury in the first round. Meri Illamola finished out the final two rounds as the Eagles' sub and fifth player.

The Eagles had a pair of players secure top-five finishes. Junior Isabella Wiley surged to third place with a score of 78-81-73--232. Graduate student Claudia Hofmeister tied for fifth place, her first career top-five effort, at 80-80-73--233.

Senior Tuva Marie Isebakke was eighth place, carding 82-80-73--235. Freshman Morgan Kennedy scored an 82-81-75--238 and was in 12th place. Illamola did not place due to subbing in but fashioned a two-day total of 78-81--159. She led the Eagles on day two.

This marked the conclusion of the competitive season for head coach Stephanie Barker's 2025-26 Eagle team.
