MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Nick Cann, who led Mercy Academy to a pair of region titles and Kentucky Sweet 16 appearances, has joined Jackie Alexander's Morehead State Women's Basketball program's coaching staff. He will be the Associate Head Coach.
Cann led Mercy, located in Louisville, Ky., to a 99-69 record in five seasons, including 25 wins in 2022-23 and a Sweet 16 quarterfinal appearance.
Cann also spent 11 seasons as the assistant coach at Anderson County High School, his alma mater, following his time at University of Kentucky as a student. He graduated from Anderson County in 2003.
Cann was the head girls basketball coach at Lexington Christian for two seasons as well, from 2013-15.
He is also assistant director/coach for the Kentucky Premier EYBL Program, having been involved with the program since its inception. It is Kentucky's only EYBL organization, competing at the highest level of travel basketball. His guidance has helped multiple players reach the collegiate level.
