MOREHEAD, Ky -- Averaging more than 20 points per game in 2025-26 for Hutchinson (Kan.) Community Colege, Kyrell Shaw has inked his commitment to join the Morehead State Men's Basketball program.
Shaw, a 6-5 guard from Charlotte, N.C., and Northside Christian Academy, started his collegiate career in 2024-25 at Maryland-Eastern Shore.
"Kyrell possesses a lot of attributes we look for in a player. He has great positional size, tremendous length, and has the ability to really score the basketball," said Head Coach
Jonathan Mattox. "He understands how to create shot opportunities at the rim, from the mid-range, and from beyond the arc. He will certainly be a great asset for our program."Â
Shaw led Hutchinson last year, averaging 21.8 points per game while shooting 48 percent overall and 62 percent inside the three-point arc. He added 4.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists per outing in 19 games. He scored 30+ five times and eclipsed 25 points seven times.
Shaw averaged 6.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game in 30 outings at Maryland-Eastern Shore in 2024-25. He posted seven double-figure scoring efforts.Â
Shaw led Northside Christian to a state title in 2022-23. He averaged 20.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.3 assists as a senior.
