Morehead, Ky. -- Morehead State Baseball returns to action this weekend as the Eagles travel to Arkansas for a three-game series with the Little Rock Trojans beginning Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., ET Friday. Saturday's start is set for 5:00 p.m. ET. Sunday's start is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. ET.

Morehead State hits Little Rock on a five-game winning streak after the Eagles' 9-6 win over Marshall Tuesday night in Morehead. MSU erupted for seven runs in the bottom of the third highlighted by home run shots by
Ian McCubbin and
Brayton Coomer and coasted to the win.

Morehead State completed a series sweep of Southern Indiana Sunday outlasting the Screaming Eagles 17-13 at Allen Field in Prefontaine Park.
Griffin Olson and
Caden Sheridan paced the Eagle attack. Olson rapped out four hits in five at-bats with three runs batted in. Sheridan was 2-3 at the plate with a double and five RBI.

Little Rock dropped two of three at Lindenwood in a tightly contested series in St. Charles, Missouri, last weekend. The Trojans took the opener last Friday 2-0; Little Rock starter Brannon Westmoreland earned his fifth win of the season with a six-hit shutout complete game. He walked one batter and struck out five.

Saturday, the Trojans dropped a 3-2 decision and came up short 3-0 Sunday in a pair of pitchers' duels.

• Morehead State leads the Ohio Valley Conference hitting .318 and ranks 11th in the nation in team batting average. The Eagles 493 hits total is also tops in the OVC and ranks 8th in the country. MSU's has scored 364 runs this season, which also is the most in the OVC and ranks tied for 30th in Division I.
• MSU has slugged 70 home runs this season, second-most in the OVC and is tied for 27th-most in the country.

Ian McCubbin extended his reached-base streak to 25 games Tuesday with his 11th home run of the season in the third inning of Tuesday's game.

Caden Sheridan went 2-3 with an RBI Tuesday against Marshall, extending his hitting streak to seven games, the longest current streak on the team. In those seven games he went 13-27 (.481) at the plate and raised his batting average 50 points to .281.

Griffin Olson had his five-game hitting streak snapped Tuesday against Marshall. He has hit safely in 14 of the last 17 games. He has raised his batting average 69 points in the month of April.
• Olson had a big day Sunday against Southern Indiana going 4-5 at the plate with three RBI and three runs scored.

Kyle Krupp returns to his hometown riding a 13-game reached-base streak. He is one of three Eagles hitting .333 on the season (Germann & Correa). He's hit safely in 11 of his last 13 games, and in 33 of the 41 games he played in.
• Krupp has stolen 22 bases in 32 attempts, ranking tied for second in the OVC.

Davis Germann leads Morehead State 14 doubles: that's tied for 4th-most in the OVC.

Jaden Correa leads Morehead State with 12 home runs, tied for 4th in the OVC. His 44 runs batted in are tied for 8th-most in the conference.
• Correa sustained a leg injury in the series opener against Lindenwood on April 17, limiting his availability. He entered that game on a seven-game hitting streak. In that stretch, he went 17-28 at the plate (.607) with four home runs, three doubles, a triple and 13 runs batted in, and raised his average 68 points to .348.
• Reliever
Devin Costa leads Morehead State with three saves. He picked up two wins out of the bullpen in the Southern Indiana series to run his record to 4-1. He leads the MSU staff with a 9.5 strikeout-to-walk ratio. He has walked two batters this season in 38.2 innings pitched. He has a 1.42 WHIP.

Alex Miller picked up the win Friday against Southern Indiana getting the final two outs in the eighth and getting through the ninth. He faced eight batters, allowing one hit and a walk and struck out four. He also got a four-inning save in Sunday's series finale.
