Morehead, Ky. -- Morehead State and Little Rock battled through another tight one with the Trojans scoring four runs in the sixth inning and Little Rock shut out the Eagles 4-0 Sunday at Gary Hogan Field in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Morehead State (24-23, 9-12 OVC) starter
Connor Davis (3-2) was solid through the first five innings of his 12
th start of the season, allowing just three hits to the Trojans. He finished allowing four earned runs on six hits. He walked no Trojan batters and struck out two.

Little Rock (28-20, 14-7 OVC) broke up a scoreless game in the sixth inning. A leadoff hit, a sacrifice bunt that went for a hit and a hit batsman loaded the bases with no outs. Little Rock left fielder Blake Simpson shot a sharp single through the right side to plate the first two runs of the game.

After a sacrifice bunt advanced the runners,
Kamden Hawks came out of the bullpen to relieve Davis. He gave up a single to center to score a run and the fourth run of the inning scored on a sacrifice fly to right.

The Eagles threatened in the eighth inning.
Jaden Correa induced a walk to lead off.
JJ Dutton, pinch-hitting, hit a sharp single that the Trojan third baseman knocked down but was unable to make a play.Â
Davis Germann walked to load the bases.
Griffin Olson struck out swinging and
Aubrey Kearns hit a sharp grounder that Little Rock shortstop Jerdy Lopez gloved and turned a double play to end the inning.

Trojan starter Nic Bronzini (2-2) was tough on the Eagle hitters; he threw eight innings, scattering four hits and two walks. He set a season-high with eight strikeouts.

Morehead State returns to action with its last midweek non-conference game of the season when the Eagles travel to Athens, Ohio, to take on the Ohio Bobcats. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. ET. The game is scheduled to be aired on ESPN+.

- Morehead State was shut out for just the third time this season.
- MSU pitchers did not walk a batter in the game. It was the first game this season the Eagles issued no free passes.
- Aubrey Kearns rapped two singles in the game, breaking a two-game hitless streak. It was his 23rd multiple-hit game of the season.
