MOREHEAD, Ky -- Lonnie Bass, Jr., a 6-8, 230-pound power forward from Las Vegas, Nev., is joining the Morehead State men's basketball program.
Bass transfers to the Eagles after one season at Independence (Kan.) Community College, where he contributed 9.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
"Lonnie is a tremendous addition to our front court," said Head Coach
Jonathan Mattox. "He plays with great physicality and had an impressive 17 double-figure rebounding games. He has great hands, can score around the rim, and step out and shoot the mid-range. We're really excited about Lonnie."
Bass hit 58 percent from the floor in his lone season with the Pirates. After missing the first eight games, he then went on to score double digits in 17 games the remainder of the year.
He prepped at Mater East Academy in Las Vegas, where he grabbed 14.2 rebounds per game as a senior.
