MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State Rifle student-athlete Hayden Bell and Beach Volleyball's Landyn Snowden are the Eagles' recipients of the 2025-26 Ohio Valley Conference Community Service Awards.

The awards, first bestowed in 2022-23, are based on activities that took place during the 2025-26 academic year and recognize outstanding student-athletes for the contributions they make away from the playing surface, both on campus and in the community.

OVC member institutions who competed in the League during the 2025-26 academic year were able to select a maximum of one male and one female student-athlete from their institution to be honored. In total 15 individuals were honored with the awards this year.

Bell, a senior from Bixby, Okla., demonstrated a selfless effort on campus and in the community.

His service efforts included volunteering with The Spring Emergency Shelter on multiple occasions, supporting local elementary schools through several First Bump Friday events, and assisting with community engagement opportunities throughout the athletic department. Hayden also played an important role in supporting the Lewis County (Ky.) Shooting Sports Program by working their annual dinner gala and outreach event, helping strengthen relationships between Morehead State Athletics and community partners throughout the region.

In addition, Bell volunteered extensively during major university and athletic department events, including Blue & Gold Weekend, alumni celebrations, the Athletic Hall of Fame Reception, Freshman Move-In, and the 2026 Student-Athlete Banquet where he assisted with preparation, setup, and event operations. He also contributed to fundraising and fan engagement initiatives such as Hoops for Heroes, football and volleyball game operations, Penny Wars activities, and numerous game day responsibilities throughout the year.

Snowden, a junior from Tallahassee, Fla., went above and beyond with servant-hearted involvement both on campus and throughout the region.

Through more than 120 hours of volunteer work, she consistently represented Morehead State University Athletics with compassion, professionalism, and a genuine passion for helping others. She dedicated significant time assisting with hearing clinics, medical clinics, and house construction initiatives, helping provide essential services and support to individuals and families in need.

She participated in numerous First Bump Friday events at local elementary schools, helping create positive interactions with young students and serving as a role model for youth throughout the area. She also volunteered during Morehead Madness Youth Volleyball activities, assisted with campus event setup and operations, supported intramural programming by refereeing beach volleyball activities, contributed to scorekeeping responsibilities, and helped prepare for campus and community events such as the Christmas Fair.
