MOREHEAD, Ky. -- For the fourth consecutive season Morehead State women's golf had at least four student-athletes earn one of college sport's most prestigious academic honors, and this year it was five. A quintet of Eagles earned All-American Scholar accolades from the Women's Golf Coaches Association.
The program honors student-athletes who have maintained a 3.5 grade point average and competed in at least 50 percent of scheduled tournaments, making the WGCA likely one of the most stringent student-athlete academic awards bestowed by any coaches organization.
This year's award winners are seniors
Amelia Rae Greenlee and Tua Marie Isebakke, graduate student
Claudia Hofmeister, junior
Isabella Wiley and freshman
Morgan Kennedy.
Kennedy posted the highest GPA of the group, with a perfect 4.0 in her first college season. Greenlee (3.78), Isebakke (3.75), Wiley (3.72) and Hofmeister (3.50) all exceeded the requirement as well.
