Five Volleyball Eagles on OVC Players to Watch List

MSU Picked #1 in Preseason Poll

Morehead, Ky. -- The Morehead State volleyball team has been picked to finish atop the Ohio Valley Conference in a vote by the OVC's coaches and media relations members and five Eagles have landed on the OVC's Watch List for the upcoming season.
 
Morehead State returns three all-conference selections from last season heading up the Eagles on the Watch List. Senior setter Sydney Sennett was an All-OVC First Team selection last season. She was second in the OVC with 1,089 assists, averaging 10.18 assists per set, also ranking second in the conference
 
Seniors middle blocker Amelia Nott and outside hitter Hollan Everett were both All-OVC Second Team selections last fall. Nott turned back 85 total blocks last season, second on the team. She slammed 44 service aces on the season, ranking third in the OVC. She led the team and ranked second in the conference with a .350 attack percentage.
 
Everett slugged 335 kills last fall, averaging 3.13 kills per set ranking 10th in the OVC. Her 376.5 points also ranked 10th in the OVC.
 
Joining the trio on the OVC Volleyball Watch list are senior defensive specialist Courtney Fitzgerald and freshman outside hitter Ella Warrick. Fitzgerald started every match last season as the club's libero and tallied 456 digs. She enters the 2026 campaign with 977 career digs.
 
A native of Linton, Indiana, Warrick amassed 535 kills last season for Linton-Stockton High School and was an AVCA Girls' High School All-Region selection last fall.
 
The predicted order of finish, with number of first place votes in parentheses and total points:
  1. Morehead State (9) – 116
  2. Southeast Missouri (3) – 102
  3. Southern Indiana (3) – 99
  4. Eastern Illinois (3) – 98
  5. Lindenwood -77
  6. SIUE – 63
  7. UT Martin – 37
  8. Western Illinois - 34
  9. Tennessee State -13
 
Morehead State opens the season in Knoxville, Tennessee August 28 against Fairfield. The Eagles will then face host Tennessee on August 29 and will close out the opening weekend on August 30 against Colgate.
