MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State Soccer looks to extend four game home unbeaten streak as the Eagles welcome Mercyhurst to MSU Soccer Field for an 11 A.M. ET kickoff Thursday. The match will be available on ESPN+.
The Eagles currently sit at 3-3, but hold a 3-0 record at home this season (4-0 dating back to the final game of 2025). MSU is on its longest home unbeaten streak since going 5-0-4 spanning from the end of 2023 into the start of 2024.
This will be second of four straight home games, the longest home stand in nine seasons and second longest in program history.
"It's a different test for us," said Head Coach
Paul Cox. "We need to make sure we win on Thursdays and Sundays, not just Sundays. We need to protect our home turf. We are excited for another opportunity to compete."

Morehead State is coming off a 2-0 victory over Northern Kentucky on Sunday, August 30.
MSU's victory marked the first time in program history that the Eagles have defeated the Norse. Entering today, NKU was the only opponent MSU had played at least nine times without winning a game.
Northern Kentucky had previously scored eight straight goals against Morehead State without allowing a single goal, outscoring MSU 19-4 overall (12-1 in the last five meetings). MSU improved to 3-3 on the season and 3-0 at home. Northern Kentucky fell to 4-1 on the season, being shut out for the first time this year.
The victory also marked the first time the Eagles have scored multiple goals against the Norse and their first goal against Northern Kentucky since 2017.
Sophomore's
Charlotte Lee opened the scoring in the 18th minute off of her own corner kick. Lee curled it around the post and deflected it off a Norse defender, sneaking it in for a score.
Sophomore
Jade Walton scored the second goal for the Eagles, delivering an absolute strike just outside the box, sneaking it past the NKU keeper. Walton's goal was assisted by Lee and
Keara Chaffee.
Lee's assist is now the seventh point she's recorded on the season, which currently ties her for second in the Ohio Valley Conference. Out of her two goals and three assists, three of the five have come off a corner kick.
Walton's goal and Lee's goal are each their second of the season, making them the first Eagles to score two or more goals in 2026. All previous goals had been scored by different players.
Goalkeeper
Allie Lammers finished Sunday's contest with nine saves, her second straight match with nine. Lammers now ranks second in the OVC in saves (28) and tied for first in shutouts (3).
Mercyhurst enters Thursday's contest with a 1-4 record on the season following a 6-0 loss to Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. The Lakers are coached by Dale White.
The Lakers are currently averaging 0.60 goals per game while allowing 3.40 goals per game. The Eagles are averaging 1.33 goals per game while allowing 1.00 goals per game.
Thursday is Faculty Appreciation Day, celebrating the faculty and staff who make the MSU campus community exceptional. All faculty and staff will receive free admission to Thursday's contest.
NOTABLE
- Lee's seven points in the first six games is the first time a Morehead State Eagle has done it since Ashley Ritchie in the first six games, 10 years ago in 2016.
- Lee has already scored more points than any Morehead State player recorded in the 2025 season.
- Lee leads the Eagles squad in assists, and is second in the Ohio Valley Conference in assists.
- MSU has already won as many games at home this year than it did last year and one more than it did in 2024.
- Lammers' 18 saves are the most saves in a two-game span since Kayla Landman recorded 21 (14 and 7) against Purdue Fort Wayne and Murray State on 9/29/2019 and 10/4/2019.
- MSU now owns a 4-game home unbeaten streak and has now shut out its opponents for the last 368 minutes and 21 seconds.
- Hannah Burke recorded her eighth career assist as an Eagle in the win over Cleveland State, tying her for ninth in program history.
- MSU scored in each of its first four games of the season, the first time it has accomplished the feat since 2015.
- Lee recorded four points through the first three games, becoming the first Eagle to do so since Hedda Ornberg did it from October 20-November 3 in 2024.
- Olivia Lowe, Kennedy Harmon, Keara Chaffee and Hannah Carter have all scored for the Eagles, all of which recorded the first goal of their collegiate careers.
- MSU tallied 41 shots against Brescia (Ky.) on Aug. 16, tying the school record for most shots in a single game. The Eagles previously recorded 41 shots against rival Austin Peay in October 2002.
- The Eagles held Brescia (Ky.) without a shot in their 2-0 victory on Aug. 16, marking the first time MSU has held an opponent without a shot for an entire game since defeating North Alabama, 2-0, in the 2021 season/home opener.
