MOREHEAD, Ky. --Â Morehead State Women's Golf is ready to tee off for the 2026-27 season as the Eagles have a trip to Pawley's Island, S.C, this week to play in the Golfweek Fall Challenge. Action in the jam-packed 24-team event takes place Sunday through Tuesday.
This will signify the seventh consecutive season MSU has opened a season at Pawley's Island's Caldedonia Golf and Fish Club. Last fall, the Eagles finished 12th, forced to fight through an extremely windy day two on the Grand Strand. Unlike in several previous seasons though, MSU will not be returning to Caledonia next spring for the Golfweek Spring Challenge.
Morehead State, under the direction of the only head coach in program history -
Stephanie Barker, will have a seven-player roster to begin this campaign. The returning Eagles include senior
Isabella Wiley, junior
Meri Illamola, sophomores
Morgan Kennedy and
Margaret Ulrich and returning redshirt
Kerri-Anne Cook. Those five will comprise Barker's lineup for the opening event.
Wiley is the leading returning low scorer for the team, averaging 75.6 last season.
The Eagles also added freshmen
Kenzie Federspiel and
Tepan Ngamkerdsiri.
Three Eagles return after earning All-OVC honors last spring. Wiley was a First-Team pick, while Kennedy earned OVC Freshman of the Year, Second-Team All-OVC and a spot on the All-Newcomer list. Ulrich was tabbed All-Newcomer.
