Morehead, Ky. -- The Morehead State volleyball team wrapped up a successful weekend with a 3-1 (25-19, 28-26, 19-25, 25-14) victory over Sienna Saturday in the Mercyhurst Invitational Tournament in the Mercyhurst Athletic Center in Erie, Pa.

Morehead State (4-2) was led by senior
Hollan Everett with 19 kills, posting an efficient .364 hitting percentage. Everett added two blocks including one block solo, the 42
nd of her career.

Freshman
Ella Warrick posted the fourth double-double of the season with a career-high 16 kills and 10 digs. She added three aces, sharing match honors with freshman setter
Josie Certa. Â
Senior
Amelia Nott added 12 kills posting a sparkling .550 hitting percentage. Nott also added three blocks, including one block solo.

The match opened closely contested. Sienna used a three-point run to gain some separation from the Eagles 11-7. Morehead State responded with a nine-point outburst led by Everett and Nott with three kills apiece to surge ahead 17-13. The Eagles closed out the set outscoring the Saints 4-1 highlighted by Everett's sixth kill of the set and three kills by Warrick. Â Morehead State posted a .333 hitting percentage in the opening frame and held Siena to a .138 hitting percentage.

Morehead State prevailed 28-26 in a wild second set that saw the Eagles run off the first five points in the frame and then Siena take the lead with a seven-point run to go to the technical timeout ahead 15-12. Later the Saints got a 3-0 run to lead 19-15. Morehead State clawed back into the set and evened the score at 22-22. The teams traded points and the Eagles held off a set point at 23 24. With the scored tied at 26-26, Nott recorded a kill and Warrick clinched the frame with her 10
th kill of the match.

Morehead State got off to a fast start in the third set: the Eagles grabbed an early 4-1 lead and stretched their advantage to 8-2 with a 4-0 run highlighted by an ace from Certa. Another 4-1 run, this one highlighted by a block solo by Everett, took the Eagles into the set break with a 15-8 lead. Siena surged back with a five-point run to close to within 15-13, took its first lead of the set at 17-16, and was the first to 20 points, a 12-2 run. The Saints outscored the Eagles 5-1 to seal the set and hold off the Eagle sweep.

The Eagles got out to a quick 8-2 to begin the fourth set. An 11-2 spurt by the Eagles, highlighted by three kills and a service ace by Warrick, put Morehead State first to 20 at 20-8.

Siena (2-4) was paced by Mary Claire Deacy with 13 kills on a .312 hitting percentage. Brianna Miller added nine kills for the Saints.

Morehead State returns home and will face off with Cincinnati Thursday at Johnson Arena. First serve is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

NOTABLE
- Hollan Everett and Amelia Nott were both named to the all-tournament team. Everett posted 45 kills on the weekend and posted a sparkling .394 hitting percentage. She added four total blocks with two block solos in the Eagles' three matches.
- Nott tallied 30 kills with a flashy .444 hitting percentage. Shed added two aces and six total blocks including two block solos.
- Morehead State posted a .295 hitting percentage while holding Siena to a .167 efficiency.
- Morehead State posted seven total team blocks to five (all block solos) for the Saints.
- MSU posted a season-high 10 service aces, led by Ella Warrick and Josie Certa with three apiece. Amelia Nott added two. Courtney Fitzgerald and Sydney Sennett posted an ace apiece.
- The Eagles had a 63-55 advantage in digs. Fitzgerald led MSU with 14.
