Former Morehead State pitching standout Dalton Stambaugh is in his second season as an Assistant Coach to the Eagle Baseball coaching staff.
In 2019 as a redshirt junior, Stambaugh posted a 7-4 record with a 3.84 ERA. His 104 strikeouts total was the fifth-highest single-season total in program history. He was named to the All-OVC First Team and was drafted in the 30th round of the MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles.
In his career at Morehead State, he posted a 17-12 record with a 5.61 ERA, 1.47 WHIP. He held opponents to a .286 batting average and piled up 238 strikeouts. Those 17 wins are tied for eighth-most in program history.
He played three seasons of Minor League baseball for both the Orioles and Cubs organizations. He posted a career 31-17 record with a 5.03 ERA. He averaged 8.6 strikeouts per nine innings with a 1.439 WHIP
