Following a three-year Eagle career, Jeff Birkofer is in his third season as the volunteer assistant for Morehead State baseball.

With Birkofer on staff, Morehead State captured the 2018 OVC Tournament title, taking part in the NCAA Clemson Regional.

Birkofer is in charge of team logistics, including travel and meals, and assists with all aspects of on-the-field activities. He also coordinates camps and clinics.

A Hebron, Ky., native, Birkofer transferred to MSU from Columbia (Tenn.) State and played at Morehead State from 2012-14. He saved the best for last, hitting .330 as a senior with 59 hits, including 10 doubles. As a sophomore in 2012, he batted .279 with 21 RBI.

Birkofer earned his bachelor's degree from MSU in 2015 and is working toward a master's degree.
