Thomas Hughes is in his first season as Morehead State's volunteer assistant coach.
Hughes, the son of current Kansas State head coach Pete Hughes, played three seasons at Oklahoma before finishing his playing career at Kansas State as a graduate transfer.
Hughes earned his Bachelor's Degree in administrative leadership from Oklahoma in 2018. He then pursued a graduate degree in academic advising at K-State.
In his lone season for Kansas State, Hughes' keen eye led to a team-high 45 walks, the most for a Wildcat since 2012. He also finished third on the team in on-base percentage.
His Oklahoma career saw him be named to the 2018 Tallahassee (Fla.) All-Regional Team. He helped guide the Sooners to two NCAA regionals and a regional title game one season.
