Thomas "Duffer" Duffy is in his third season as an assistant football coach at Morehead State and second year as the program's recruiting coordinator. He continues to work with the wide receivers.
With Duffy's assistance, the MSU offense set 17 school records in 2011. The Eagles led the Pioneer Football League in first downs (25.2), passing yards (358.2), total yards (478.9) and points (36.1) per contest.
Donte Sawyer set a Morehead State single-season record with 12 touchdown catches under Duffy’s watch in 2011. He also led the Eagles with 60 receptions for 904 yards, which ranked among league leaders in both categories.
Duffy joined the MSU staff after three seasons as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Fairhope High School (Ala.). He helped the Pirates average 34 points during that three-year window.
WIth Duffy's guidance, Fairhope finished 10-0 in 2009. His offensive unit included all-state selections at quarterback and running back, both of whom were invited to the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game that year.
Prior to his stop in Alabama, Duffy spent four years as the quarterbacks coach for Tony Franklin's System Camps.
His first coaching job was at Henderson County High School (Ky.). He spent three seasons as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach before enjoying three years as the school's head coach.
Duffy led the Colonels to a 32-7 record as head coach. During the stretch, his teams captured three district championships, two regional championships and made a pair of state semifinal appearances.
A two-time District Coach of the Year at Henderson County, Duffy also helped coordinate youth league programs, camps and clinics.
Duffy earned a bachelor's degree from Ohio University in 2001. He earned four letters at defensive back for the Bobcats from 1998-2001.
Duffy is currently working on a master's degree. He is married to the former Jada Crafton. The couple has two daughters, Nyla and Harper.
