Dominic Lombardi completed fifth season on the MSU Men's Basketball staff and his fourth as assistant coach in 2022-23. He served as Director of Operations in 2017-18.
Lombardi assisted in leading the Eagle program to prominence in 2020-21, winning the program's first Ohio Valley Conference Tournament championship in 10 years and leading the Eagles to the NCAA Tournament with a 23-8 record.
The Eagles again won 23 games in 2021-22.Â
He also helped mentor MSU to its third straight 20+ win season and the first OVC outright regular-season title for the Eagles in 39 years in 2022-23. He helped guide Mark Freeman to the OVC Player of the Year honor.Â
Working primarily with the guards, redshirt junior DeVon Cooper was named Second Team All-OVC, and junior Skyelar Potter was named to the OVC All-Newcomer team.
Lombardi helped Jordan Walker to First-Team All-OVC honors in 2018-19.
He spent the 2016-17 season as director of player development at Duquesne.
Prior to his season at Duquesne, Lombardi served two years as video coordinator at South Florida under former head coach Orlando Antigua. Before accompanying Antigua to USF, Lombardi was assistant video coordinator at Kentucky for two seasons, culminating in a national championship appearance in 2013-14.
Lombardi played three seasons of NCAA Division II basketball at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he spent his senior year as a student assistant coach under his father, head coach Joe Lombardi.
A native of Indiana, Pa., Lombardi graduated from IUP with a degree in marketing in 2012.
