Joe Rath is in his second year on the coaching staff at Morehead State.
In his two seasons, the program has seen tremendous improvements. Rath has helped guide six men's runners in place their names on the all-time top 10 cross country performance list and eight women make the cut on the top 10 performance list. In his first year with the track program in 2012, 10 school records were established.
Before coming to MSU, Rath coached at Butte Community College in 2011. While there, he served as an assistant track coach in charge of the distance team. Rath also coached two athletes to the California State meet.
As an athlete, Rath ran for Southern Oregon University and was part of the 2008 cross country team that finished fourth at NAIA nationals. He also ran one season at Chico State University.
Rath graduated from SOU with a bachelor's degree in psychology.
