Buck Dawson

A.L. "Buck" Dawson, a 2001 Morehead State Athletic Hall of Fame inductee, is in his third season as an assistant men's golf coach.

Dawson most recently served as an assistant cross country and track & field coach at Montreat College (N.C.) before returning to MSU to assist with the Eagle cross country and track & field teams.

Dawson is a former cross country and track & field coach at Morehead State.  He took over the track program in 1973 and was named Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year just one season later.

Morehead State put Dawson's name on the track inside Jayne Stadium shortly after he led the Eagles to an indoor track & field conference championship in 1977.

Dawson is a member of the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame.  He also earned a spot in the West Virginia State Hall of Fame after leading WVSU to five conference titles.

Dawson coached at Florida Southern and Warner Southern.  He is a member of the Sunshine State Conference and Polk County (Fla.) Sports Halls of Fame, along with four other Halls of Fame.

The 1960 graduate of Morehead State played football and baseball for the Eagles.
