Amber Schifano

One of Morehead State's top shooters in recent history returned to help her alma mater's rifle program. Amber Schifano is the volunteer assistant coach for Head Coach Alan Joseph's Eagle rifle team, debuting in 2024-25.

Schifano is a 2022 MSU graduate and is currently enrolled in the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Rural Physician Leadership Program. Her curriculum includes completing her clinical medical rotations in Morehead for the next two years. Since starting medical school, Schifano has been passionately involved in volunteering with the pediatrics interest group and was a president for the Learning Communities Student Organization. Outside of the hospital, she has continued her rifle career by competing in the Eagle Open at MSU and the West Virginia University Open Match.

As an Eagle, she had many accomplishments on the range and in the classroom. She was a member of MSU's 2020 OVC Championship team. Schifano was an All-OVC selection in Air Rifle in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Academically, she was named an OVC Scholar Athlete for the 2020-21 year. Schifano was a member of the George M. Luckey, Jr. Honors Program at MSU, graduating with full Academic Honors. She was also named the class of 2022 Outstanding College of Science Student and Outstanding Pre-Medicine Student.

Schifano is excited to live out MSU's phrase "Once an Eagle always an Eagle" by joining MSU's staff as volunteer assistant rifle coach and continuing her involvement in a sport she is so passionate about while being a mentor for current rifle athletes.
