Holly Tilley, a midfielder for the Morehead State soccer program from 2011-14, is in her second season as an assistant coach with the Eagles. She handles a variety of responsibilities, working with head coach Warren Lipka and assistant coach Trip Rogers.
Tilley was a member of two Ohio Valley Conference championship and NCAA Tournament teams.
In 2010, when Tilley played four matches before suffering a season-ending injury and was awarded a medical redshirt, Morehead State won OVC regular-season and tournament titles. In 2013, which marked her redshirt junior year, the Eagles claimed another league tournament championship.
Tilley started all 84 matches during her four full years at Morehead State. She tallied five career goals and three career assists. The Eagles reached double-figure victories and finished .500-or-better in league play three of the four seasons. Tilley was an All-OVC Newcomer choice in 2011.
In addition to many athletic accomplishments, Tilley excelled in the classroom and performed many hours of community service. She was tabbed to the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2010, 2012 and 2013. The honor is presented annually to student-athletes who have at least a 3.25 grade point average.
Tilley, a native of Columbus, Ohio, prepped at Walnut Ridge High School. She was the first female athlete ever to be voted to the Boy's Division I All-District Team in Central Ohio. Playing against guys, Tilley was also an All-City League choice as a junior and senior in 2008 and 2009.
