Angela McGuire Morehead State Volleyball

Angela McGuire

After serving as volunteer coach in 2012 and 2016, Angela McGuire is in her first season as assistant coach for the Morehead State volleyball team.

McGuire was most recently the head coach at Queens University in Charlotte, N.C. where she guided her team to 45 wins in three seasons following the program's three wins the previous three years. She led her squad to 20 wins in her final season in 2011.

She also had stints as head coach at Lander University (S.C.) and Converse College (S.C.). In addition, she was the director of the overall volleyball program and head coach at Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, S.C.

McGuire began her playing career at Troy University in 1997 before transferring to the University of Saint Francis (Ill.) to finish up her career. At Troy, she was named Trans American Athletic Conference All-Freshman. McGuire was tabbed First-Team All-Chicagoland Conference at USF in 1999 and 2000 and was an Honorable Mention All-American in 2000. She helped her team win the conference title in 1999.

She earned her bachelor's degree in mass communications from Saint Francis. McGuire is married to Morehead State baseball head coach Mike McGuire, and the couple has three daughters, Courtney, Sydney, and Sarah.
