Jared Goldberg, who spent the 2013 and 2014 volleyball seasons as a graduate assistant at Ole Miss, is in his second year as an assistant coach at Morehead State. He assists with a variety of areas, including recruiting, practice planning, opponent scouting and video analysis.
At Ole Miss, Goldberg was responsible for tape exchange, statistical analysis and scouting with a program called Data Volley. Playing in one of the nation’s top volleyball conferences, the Rebels improved from a 14-17 record (.452) his first season to 22-10 (.688) his second campaign.
Goldberg has had multiple stints working with USA Volleyball. He was promoted to the Junior National Team’s technical coordinator in 2015 after spending time as an intern in 2013 and 2014.
Originally from the Washington, D.C., area, Goldberg has worked as a summer camp instructor at three Division I institutions over the past five years. He has assisted the coaching staffs at Ole Miss (2013 and 2014), North Carolina (2011, 2012 and 2014) and American (2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013).
Goldberg played three years of Division I varsity volleyball. He spent the 2012 and 2013 seasons at Grand Canyon (Ariz.) after spending the 2011 campaign at Pacific (Calif.). Goldberg earned a bachelor’s degree from Grand Canyon in 2013 and master’s degree from Ole Miss in 2015.
Goldberg grew up in a sports family. His father, Barry, has spent 26 seasons as the head volleyball coach at American University. His mother, Bonnie, runs the Metro American Volleyball Club in Washington, D.C. His older sister, Arielle, is the director of the Bay to Bay Volleyball Club in Northern California. And his younger brother, Mitchell, plays lacrosse at the University of Richmond.
