Maggie Burns

A native of Louisville, Ky., Maggie Burns is in her second year as an assistant with the volleyball program.

In 2024, she was a vital part of an Eagle program that played in the NCAA Tournament.

Burns began her coaching foray after a brilliant career at Daemen University (N.Y.). After starting her career as the Mountain East Freshman of the Year in 2019 at Urbana (Ohio), Burns culminated her college career with a 2023 East Coast Conference championship and tournament MVP honors after being the 2022 ECC Player of the Year at Daemen. 

In 2022, she was also First-Team All-ECC, AVCA First-Team All-Region and D2CCA All-Region. In 2021, as a sophomore, Burns helped her team become East Coast Conference champions as well as an NCAA East Region Championship and an Elite 8 appearance. That season, she earned Second-Team All-ECC.

Burns was the 2024 Daemen KLAW Award Recipient. She is also the ECC nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year.

A product of renowned volleyball program Assumption High School in Louisville, she was a part of the 2018 national championship team that posted a 43-0 record. Burns helped AHS to state titles in 2017 and 2018.

Off the court, she was a Team Impact fellow from 2022-24, helping Daemen to receive Division II campus of the year in 2023. She was an NCAA Student Athlete Leadership Forum participant in 2023 and served as Daemen's Student Athlete Advisory Committee president.

She has also worked with the KIVA volleyball club for many years.
