Marcie West, an All-American at Florida and former member of Team USA Volleyball, is in her second season as a volunteer assistant on the Morehead State staff.

A native of Gainesville, Fla., the former Marcie Hampton led the Gators to four NCAA Tournament appearances, including Sweet 16 berths her junior and senior seasons in 2006 and 2007.

She was named Third-Team All-America by the American Volleyball Coaches Association and was chosen Honorable Mention All-America by Volleyball Magazine in 2007. West was also a two-time academic all-district selection by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

West still ranks first in career attacks (4,204), third in digs (1,384) and fifth in kills (1,471) at UF. She guided her teams to a 118-14 record (.839 winning percentage).

She helped Team USA win a bronze medal at the Pan-American Games in Rio De Janeiro in 2007. West also played for the USA Junior National Team in 2001, 2002 and 2004 and was captain of the 2002 USA Youth National Team.

West was a finalist for the Gatorade National High School Player of the Year and was named Florida Miss Volleyball in 2002.

She spent the 2012-13 year as an assistant coach and consultant at NCAA Division II member Texas A&M-Commerce.

She is married to MSU Assistant Football Coach Rod West. The couple has a one-year-old daughter, Maya.
