Junior Marisa Kamelgarn was named Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Year by league coaches after she shared medalist honors and the Morehead State women’s golf team finished second at the 2012 Ohio Valley Conference Championship last Tuesday. 

Kamelgarn tied for first out of 38 golfers at the 2012 OVC Championship and has now finished in the top five of the league tournament all three of her years at MSU.  She carded rounds of 72, 73 and 77 en route to a 222 in this year’s event at GreyStone Golf Course.

A native of Mahopac, N.Y., Kamelgarn is a three-time all-conference selection and nine-time OVC Golfer of the Week.  In 2011-12, she led the OVC with a 74.5 stroke average, won three tournaments and registered seven top-10 performances.
