MOREHEAD, Ky. - Senior Greg Anderson and sophomore Bradley Bryan each earned a singles victory but the Morehead State men's tennis team was unable to overcome Ohio Valley Conference rival Eastern Kentucky in a 5-2 loss in front of a sizeable crowd Tuesday afternoon at the Wellness Center.
"What a great atmosphere," said MSU coach Kevin Fulton. "We gave OVC-leader EKU a great run and look forward to seeing them again in the conference tournament."
Anderson earned a 6-4, 6-3 win over Carlos Tinaut at No. 2 singles. Bryan followed with a 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 win in over Mel Segota in the No. 3 match.
Jason Wolfson took one set but fell to Niklas Schroeder 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 in the No. 4 match.
With the loss, the Eagles fell to 8-6 overall and 3-4 in the conference. EKU improved to 6-0 in the OVC and 15-8 overall.
MSU will be back in action Friday April 10, as they host conference foe Austin Peay State University at 1 p.m.
