MOREHEAD, Ky. – Former Morehead State football player David Hyland has received a camp invite with the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgs. The Yard Dawgs are affiliated with Arena Football One.
Hyland had an impressive career while at MSU. In his junior season he was named Sports Network All-America Third Team. He was a Sport Network and Football Gazette Mid Major All-American in 2007. Hyland was a three time All-PFL First Team defensive back selection. In 2007 Hyland was NCAA Division I FCS national statistical champion in interceptions per game. Hyland holds the FCS record for passes defended in a career (61) and has school records for interceptions in a season (8), interceptions in a career (21), tied the record for interceptions in a game (3), and has the longest interception return in school history (100 yards).
The Yard Dawgs have joined Arena Football One after spending six seasons in Arena Football Two. Oklahoma City will kick off its 2010 season on April 3rd against the Jacksonville Sharks.
