KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Led by an 11th place finish from sophomore
Marisa Kamelgarn, the Morehead Sate women's golf team finished the Fall season on a high note. MSU took fifth out of the 18 teams at the Palmetto Intercollegiate, played at the par 72, 5,912-yard Oak Point Golf Course.
The Eagles tied with host College of Charleston with an 889 team total for the 54-hole event. MSU was only two strokes behind fourth place Kansas and just eight shots shy of third place inthe team standings. MSU also finished just ahead of fellow OVC school Jacksonville State and ahead of Eastern kentucky (16th).
Kamelgarn concluded the event with a 73-74-74--221. After a tough round on Monday afternoon, senior
Paige Lausier responded with a three-under scorecard on Tuesday. Her tournament total was 74-80-69-- 223 for 18th place.
Freshman Sofia Petterson also tied for 18th with Lausier after a 77-71-75-223.
Emma Jonsson was tied for 28th. She fired a 69 Monday morning but had a tough two final rounds, finishing with a 69-76-82--227. Senior
Lynn Grunkemeyer was the Eagles' final golfer, and she concluded in 68th place with an 85-78-79--242.
