CLARKSVILLE, Tenn -
Morehead State’s women’s basketball team renews it rivalry with Ohio Valley Conference foe Austin Peay in the Dunn Center Tuesday night. The Eagles enter the game winners of five straight, and MSU is currently leading the OVC standings at 3-0 after its 62-58 win at Tennessee State Sunday.

Austin Peay, meanwhile, comes in with a less-than-stellar 3-9 overall record, but the Lady Govs have played one of the OVC’s toughest non-conference schedules. The Lady Govs are 2-1 in league games, including a 70-60 win over Eastern Kentucky Sunday. The last two years, Austin Peay finished with a .500 or below overall record but won the OVC Tournament to advance to the NCAA Tournament.

Whitney Hanley leads the Lady Govs with 13.5 points per game, while Meghan Bussabarger tosses in 9.0 per game. Jasmine Rayner ranks sixth in the OVC circuit in rebounding but comes in at second in rebounds off the offensive glass.

Morehead State is led by a quartet of veterans. Courtney Lumpkin, Chynna Bozeman, Ashar Harris and Linda Dixon account for about 75 of the Eagles’ scoring, rebounding and minutes played with Bozeman leading in scoring at 16.7 per game and Harris leading the league in rebounding at 10.8 per game.

The teams have met 68 times, and the series is currently tied up at 34 games apiece.

The Eagles will be off for Christmas after Tuesday and return to play at Marshall on Dec. 28.
