Men's Netters Drop 6-1 Decision at Xavier

CINCINNATI, Ohio
- Morehead State's men's tennis squad won at number three doubles and number one singles against Xavier Friday night, but in between,the Musketeers claimed the remainder of the matches as they handed MSU a 6-1 defeat.

The Eagles fell to 2-2.

In doubles, MSU's "Nathan" duo (Nathan Martin and Nathan Blum) knocked off J.T. Torbeck and Phillip Diaz at number three. The Musketeers took the point, winning 8-2 at number one and 8-4 at number two.

In singles, redshirt senior Greg Anderson won an epic battle over Chris Herrlinger, 7-6 (14-12), 7-6 (7-2), at number one.

At number two, Richard Canelas defeated Jerry Sundgren 7-5, 6-1 on court two. At the third spot Bradley Bryan gave Patrick Bandy a hard fight before falling 6-4, 2-6, 2-6. On court four Dusan Milovanovic also put up a stiff battle against Torbeck before succumbing 1-6, 6-3, 5-10.

The final two matches were not as close as Martin fell 0-6, 0-6 to Brandon MacDonald at number five, while Blum absorbed a 1-6, 0-6 defeat versus Brian Starr in the sixth contest.

MSU hosts Bellarmine and Southern Indiana on Saturday, Feb. 20 for a netter doubleheader.
