Game Notes | Listen Live | Live Stats

MOREHEAD, Ky. -
The Morehead State women's basketball team has been nearly unbeatable in the Ohio Valley Conference so far this season, going 9-2. One of the two teams that did find a way past the Eagles - Jacksonville State - will pay a visit to Johnson Arena Thursday night. Tipoff time is set for 5:15 p.m.

The Gamecocks entered the first meeting with MSU this year on Jan. 9 in last place in the league but JSU did just about everything right that day and MSU didn't fare as well, losing 70-60. Overall the series is tied 7-7 but the Eagles have won six of the last eight meetings. In the last three meetings in Morehead, the Eagles have outscored the Gamecocks by an average of 77-54.

JSU (6-15/3-8 OVC) does not have a player averaging double figures in points. Leading scorer Brittany Wiley (9.3 ppg) is day-to-day as well with an injury. Karisma Boykin, who had 16 in the first meeting with MSU, averages 8.6. JSU is 1-7 in road games this season.

The Eagles are coming off a weekend sweep of Tennessee State and Austin Peay. Chynna Bozeman was named OVC Player of the Week. She averaged 33.5 points in the two contests, hitting a school and OVC record 17 for 17 free throws at TSU and nailing a school record nine three-pointers en route to a career high 37 points at APSU.

MSU continues to rank among the national leaders in three pointers, ranking second in both attempts and makes per game. The Eagles need only 15 more triples to break the OVC single season mark of 267.
