MSU Cheer Sweeps; Both Squads Win National Championships

ORLANDO, Fla. - Morehead State cheer repeated as national champions Saturday, as both the all-girl and co-ed squads won their respective titles at the UCA National Championships, held at Walt Disney World.

The Eagles return to Morehead with a school-record three national championships. The Morehead State all-girl group stunt team won a national championship on Friday.

ALL-GIRL DIVISION I FINALS ROUTINE

CO-ED DIVISION I FINALS ROUTINE

"I have never been more proud to be part of such a famed program," said MSU Cheer coach Bill Mayo following the record-breaking results. "We had the most difficult routines in our divisions and we did things that no team has ever done before. Our stunts and pyramids were revolutionary and our attitude was perfect. We came to win and that's just what we did. Morehead owns Orlando in the month of January and I am so proud we kept the tradition"

The titles marked the 20th for MSU co-ed and the eighth for all-girl. With Friday's stunt title, an all-girl stunt title in 2003, and a co-ed stunt title won in 1991, Morehead State cheerleading now holds 31 national championships.
