Former Eagle David Hyland Joins Arena Football League Roster

OFFICIAL RELEASE FROM THE UTAH BLAZE

MOREHEAD, Ky. –
Former Morehead State defensive back David Hyland has joined the Arena Football League’s Utah Blaze for the 2012 season.  The 24-year-old has spent the past two campaigns in the Canadian Football League with the BC Lions and Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Hyland was a two-time, Mid-Major All-American during his time at Morehead State (2005-08).  In 44 career games, he racked up a school-record 21 interceptions for 319 yards and three touchdowns.

Hyland, a native of Woodstock, Ga., also tallied 167 tackles and 40 pass break-ups as an Eagle.

Following his college career, the two-time Pioneer Football League First-Team selection was invited to participate in rookie training camp with the NFL’s Cleveland Browns.
