Eagle Baseball Travels to Face West Virginia Tuesday

GAME NOTES (PDF)

MOREHEAD, Ky. --
The Eagle baseball team, fresh off their first road victory of the season, travels to Charleston, W. Va., Tuesday for a non-conference contest against West Virginia.

MSU split the doubleheader Sunday against SEMO at Capaha Field in Cape Girardeau, Mo. The Eagles dropped game one despite a strong pitching performance by senior Trey Smith, 3-2, and won game two of the twinbill thumping the Redhawks, 14-4.

The Mountaineers will be a tough opponent for the Eagles as they tout a .326 batting average and have hit 21 home runs.

Eagle freshman Noah Smallwood (0-2, 10.04) will make the start Tuesday after missing his start against SEMO due to a rainout. In his last start against Miami (Ohio), Smallwood tossed five innings and allowed three earned runs.

Tuesday's game is a scheduled 6 p.m. first pitch.
