MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Eagle baseball team will host Cincinnati at Allen Field Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m.
The Bearcats will be the third Big East opponent the Eagles take on this season. MSU defeated West Virginia last week in a neutral site game in Charleston, W.Va., 6-4, and lost on the road against Louisville, 6-1.
Morehead State (5-22) is coming off a series loss against SIU Edwardsville, a future Ohio Valley Conference opponent. Cincinnati (13-12) is coming off a sweep of Georgetown. They defeated the Hoyas in extra innings Sunday 3-2.
The Eagles look to avenge a loss against Cincinnati in 2010, a 9-7 contest at UC's Marge Schott Stadium. Starter Matthew Robertson pitched seven strong innings against the Bearcats before they struck in a six-run eighth inning against the Eagle bullpen.
The Bearcats leads the all-time series against Morehead State 30-22.
Designated hitter/catcher Eric Bainer led MSU offensively last week going 5-for-15 with a home run and seven RBI.
Wednesday's game will also feature a cookout for Morehead State student-athletes in honor of National Student-Athlete Day.
