MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State sophomore Cyrus Strahm and junior Aaron Meadows have been selected for weekly honors from College Football Performance Awards.
Strahm is the Football Championship Subdivision’s National Kick Returner of the Week, while Meadows is the Pioneer Football League’s Defensive Lineman of the Week.
Strahm tallied two kick returns for 116 yards, including an 83-yard touchdown, in last Saturday’s 49-14 victory over Davidson. He now has five kick returns for 184 yards this season.
Strahm’s effort comes just one week after senior Donte Sawyer managed a 94-yard kick return for a touchdown. Both individuals were named PFL Special Teams Player of the Week.
Meadows posted five tackles and two sacks in MSU’s most-recent win over the Wildcats. He leads the Eagles in nine contests this season with 5 1/2 sacks and 11 tackles for loss.
Morehead State continues its league slate on Saturday at San Diego. Kick-off from Torero Stadium is set for 9 p.m. ET. MSU’s season finale is back at Jayne Stadium on Nov. 17 against Valparaiso.
