"I couldn't be prouder for a group of young women who have stayed together through thick and thin," Head Coach Tom Hodges said. "We never talked about a losing streak, and we always stayed positive and kept working on the process of getting better. There were so many players who did incredible things tonight. I am just so proud that we stayed the course and got a great road win."
The Eagles forced 19 UAB turnovers and connected on 15-of-18 at the free throw line, including 7-of-8 in the final 2:38. After hitting just 29 percent (8-of-28) from the field in the first half, MSU drilled 50 percent (10-of-20) in the final 20 minutes and forced the Blazers to connect on just 28 percent (8-of-29) of their attempts.
