Men's Basketball Continues Road Swing at Austin Peay

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Morehead State men’s basketball team (14-13, 7-6) continues a stretch of five road games in 17 days when it visits Ohio Valley Conference foe Austin Peay (9-18, 6-7) on Wednesday.  Tip-off from Aaron Arena is set for 8 p.m. ET.

The game will be webcast live on OVCSports.tv.  It will also be broadcast on the Eagle Sports Network, which includes four affiliates in Eastern Kentucky and MSUEagles.com.

Morehead State has won five of its past eight games, with victories over UT Martin, Norfolk State, Tennessee Tech, Eastern Illinois and Eastern Kentucky.

Austin Peay has dropped four straight contests after a stretch of five wins in six tries.  The Governors have won four of their past five affairs at Aaron Arena.

Morehead State is led by senior Ty Proffitt (10.0 ppg, .380 3FG%), junior Kahlil Owens (4.9 rpg), senior Lamont Austin (3.0 apg, 1.5 spg), junior Milton Chavis (.531 FG%) and junior Marsell Holden (.929 FT%).

Holden paced the Eagles with 12 points in Saturday’s victory at Eastern Kentucky, while Proffitt and Austin chipped in with eight points apiece.

Austin Peay is led by senior Josh Terry (12.4 ppg, 2.0 spg), senior John Fraley (9.1 rpg, .628 FG%), junior Jerome Clyburn (3.1 apg, .765 FT%) and senior TyShwan Edmondson (.344 3FG%).

Sophomore Alton Williams knocked down all five three-point attempts on Saturday against #7/9 Murray State and paced four Governors in double figures with 15 points.

Donnie Tyndall is in his sixth season as the head coach at Morehead State (110-83, .570) and his seventh year in charge of a college basketball program (140-88, .614).

Dave Loos is in his 22nd season as the head coach at Austin Peay (360-308, .540) and his 26th year in charge of a college basketball program (442-361, .550).  Loos, a five-time OVC Coach of the Year, also serves as the director of athletics at APSU.

Morehead State owns a 51-50 advantage in the all-time series against Austin Peay. 

The Eagles posted a 68-64 win in this year’s first meeting on Dec. 31 at Johnson Arena.  MSU’s top scorer, senior Terrance Hill, tallied a team-best 15 points on ESPNU that afternoon before suffering a season-ending left knee injury with 1:15 remaining in the second half.
