MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Joshua Brunner has earned Second-Team All-Pioneer Football League honors from College Sports Madness, while Ronald Cooper, Michael Jackson and Brandon Bornhauser have landed third-team accolades from the same organization.
Brunner, a junior from Pittsburgh, blocked for an offense that averaged 240 passing yards and 369 total yards. Morehead State allowed just 1.6 sacks per game, which ranked third in the league.
Cooper, a sophomore defensive lineman from Atlanta, led the Eagles with 11 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks. He posted 53 tackles, which placed fifth on the squad.
Jackson, a junior defensive back from Cincinnati, ranked third at MSU with 72 tackles, including 45 solos. He also registered four tackles for loss, seven pass break-ups and three interceptions.
Bornhauser, a junior slot receiver and return specialist from Cincinnati, averaged 26.7 yards on 22 kick returns and 7.8 yards on 14 punt returns. He had 37 carries for 163 yards and seven touchdowns, plus 16 catches for 138 yards and two scores.
The four individuals joined Alex Hey, Kitaro Lewis, John Coleman and Steven Lester on the Pioneer Football League's 2013 Honorable Mention list, which was released last week. That group of honorees was voted on by the conference's head coaches.
Morehead State finished the 2013 campaign 3-9 overall and 3-5 in league play. The Eagles posted victories over Davidson, Campbell and Valparaiso from Sept. 28-Oct. 19. Check MSUEagles.com throughout the off-season for updates on MSU football.
