Men's Golf Completes First Two Rounds in Florida

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. -- The Morehead State men’s golf team posted a 305-307--612 on Saturday and is tied for 11th out of 18 teams after two rounds of the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular.

Seniors Jared Flanery (76-75--151) and Matt Logan (73-78--151) are leading the Eagles at the Las Colinas Golf Course.  The duo is tied for 38th out of 116 individuals heading into the final 18 holes.

Freshman Logan Hogge (79-75--154), senior Sam Zirnheld (77-79--156) and freshman Brad Newman (82-81--163) are also competing for Morehead State in its second tournament of the spring campaign.

Purdue (288-289--577) leads the team standings, while Indiana (292-286--578), Florida Atlantic (299-286--585), Georgia State (291-294--585) and Virginia Tech (294-293--587) round out the top five.

Georgia State freshman Jonathan Grey (70-71--141) and Indiana senior Michael McGee Indiana (73-68--141) lead the individual race through 36 holes.  Eleven golfers are currently even or better.

The course plays at a par of 72 and yardage of 6,970.  The final round is slated for Sunday.  George Mason is hosting the event, which is being played on a course inside the Mission Inn Resort.
