NASHVILLE -- The Morehead State baseball team is set to hit the road for its first weekend series with new Ohio Valley Conference member Belmont.

The teams are scheduled for a 5 p.m. ET start on Thursday at E.S. Rose Park. Game two is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Friday, with the final game of the series scheduled for a 2 p.m. first pitch.
A few notes heading into the series:
• Morehead State postponed its midweek game at Northern Kentucky to April 9 due to inclement weather in the area.
• The Eagles picked up their second Ohio Valley Conference series win of the season last weekend, taking two of three from Southeast Missouri. They improved to 9-15 overall and 4-5 in OVC play.
• Belmont enters the series with a 17-6 record, and a 5-1 record in OVC play. The Bruins opened OVC play by taking two from SEMO, before a series sweep over Eastern Kentucky.
• Senior catcher Drew Williams crushed three home runs last week, tying freshman third baseman Alan Mocahbee with four on the year to lead MSU in that category. Both players rank fifth in the OVC in home runs.
• Sophomore right-hander Blake Smith had his best outing of the season against SEMO last weekend, coming one out short of his first career complete game. He only allowed two runs on five hits, while walking two.
• Senior shortstop Chase Greenwell leads the team in batting average after 24 games, at .344. Sophomore first baseman Kane Sweeney (.333) and Mocahbee (.316) are the only other Eagles hitting above the .300 mark.
• Senior right-hander Austin Haney has settled into the closer role for the Eagles, picking up three saves and two wins out of the bullpen this season.
• As a team, Morehead State has a .267 batting average, while driving in 100 runs on the season.
