Softball Hits the Road for Non-Conference Action

GAME NOTES | LIVE STATS AT MIAMI (OHIO)

MOREHEAD, Ky.
– The Morehead State softball team steps out of conference action this week for a rescheduled doubleheader at Miami (Ohio) and a twinbill at Butler.

The Eagles (14-14) will face the Redhawks (12-20) on Tuesday in a contest that was originally scheduled for March 26, but was postponed due to inclement weather. The end of the trip will feature a pair of contests with the Bulldogs (12-17) on Wednesday. Both doubleheaders are slated to begin at 3 p.m. ET.

GAME NOTES

• MSU went 3-3 last week, which included a sweep of Northern Kentucky, split with Murray State and sweep at the hands of Austin Peay.
 
• Senior Amber Riddle broke the MSU career home run record with her 31st in the NKU series. She went on to hit two more during the week. Her five RBI in the Murray State series has her tied for the career RBI mark (132).
 
• Senior Anna Sommer hit her first career grand slam in the 9-2 victory over Murray State. It was Sommer’s second home run of the week.
 
• Senior Kayla Ashbrook ranks in the top five all-time at MSU in RBI (94), at-bats (581), runs (103), hits (172), home runs (12) and total bases (245).
 
• Senior Liz Wagner leads the conference in hitting with a .439 average.
 
• MSU leads the conference in team batting with a .308 average, and is fifth in team pitching with a 3.21 ERA.
 
• The Eagles are 12-6 in non-conference action and 4-5 on the road.
 
• MSU is 0-7 all-time against the Redhawks and 5-5 in games with the Bulldogs.
