Macshara Joins 1,000-Yard Rushing Club

The Morehead State athletic department has compiled a list of top team and individual performances from the 2012-13 school year.  Today's highlight features the fourth-best individual performer, as voted on by select members of the department.

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Sophomore running back Rees Macshara became Morehead State's first 1,000-yard rusher since 2000 with a career-best 211 ground yards on Nov. 17 against Valparaiso.

The Eagles rolled up 696 yards of total offense that afternoon to post a 76-24 win over the Crusaders, who play in the Pioneer Football League.

Macshara finished the campaign with 1,013 rushing yards (second in the Pioneer Football League) and six touchdowns on 173 carries.  He averaged 92.1 yards per contest and 5.9 yards per attempt.
