Women's Basketball Closes Road Trip at Belmont

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Morehead State women's basketball squad closes an Ohio Valley Conference road trip to Nashville with a 7 p.m. ET contest Monday at Belmont.

The Eagles (9-11/3-4 OVC) will be facing a Bruin (7-14/4-3 OVC) squad that has won four of its last games and is 5-3 this year at the Curb Event Center. Belmont defeated Morehead State twice last season.

Last Time Out
Terrice Robinson and Almesha Jones combined for 48 points, but it wasn't enough as host Tennessee State scored 52 second-half points en route to an 87-70 victory. The MSU guard duo hit 22 free throws.

Morehead State ranks second in the OVC in assists per game, averaging 13.7 per contest.

Pass It, Score It
The Eagles lead the OVC in assist-field goal ratio. Sixty-five percent of the time MSU makes a basket there is an assist. The next highest in the league in Eastern Illinois at 60 percent.

Welcome to the Club
Terrice Robinson became the 21st member of the 1,000-point club at Morehead State Saturday at Tennessee State. With 1,019 career points, she needs just 12 to break into the top 20 in career scoring in program history.

Live by the Three
Morehead State averages 7.4 three-pointers made and 24.8 three-pointers attempted per game. MSU has put together six consecutive seasons with at least 200 three-pointers made. MSU tied the OVC record with 19 triples versus Berea (Ky.), which also ranked as the fourth highest single-game total in NCAA Division I history.

Take 'Em When You Get 'Em
In its last 10 games, Morehead State is shooting 77 percent (139-of-181) at the free throw line. In comparison, in its first 10 games, MSU connected on just 65 percent at the charity stripe.

Triple-Double! Almost
Almesha Jones nearly had a triple-double on Jan. 18 against UT Martin. Jones scored a team-best 15 points, had nine rebounds and dished out nine assists. There have been 17 triple-doubles in NCAA Division I women's basketball this season.

Playing Like a Captain
Almesha Jones has had a solid four-game stretch. She has scored 20 or more points three times in the last four games and averaged 6.5 assists in that stretch.

Miss Robinson
Terrice Robinson ranks sixth in the Ohio Valley Conference with 17.7 points per game. She has 19 career 20+ point games. She also has 45 career double-figure scoring games to her credit.

Takeaways Are Her Specialty
Almesha Jones currently is tied for the OVC lead in steals per game at 2.3. With 149 career swipes to her credit, Jones ranks ninth in program history.

Helping Hands
Almesha Jones, who leads the OVC in assists per game with 5.3, has recorded 26 career games with at least five assists. Eleven of those games have come this season.

Breakout Season
Shanice Parker entered the season with just 24 points in only 39 career games. But, Parker is having a breakout final campaign. She is averaging 7.8 points and has five double-figure contests.
