Volleyball Drops Three-Set Decision at Eastern Illinois

CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Junior outside hitter Abby Saalfrank drilled 15 kills and hit .464, while junior outside hitter Chelsea Lee added 12 smackdowns and hit .400 as the Eastern Illinois volleyball team posted to a 25-20, 25-21, 25-15 victory over Morehead State on Saturday night at Lantz Arena.

The Panthers improve to 13-14 overall, 7-7 in the Ohio Valley Conference and 5-3 at home.  The Eagles fall to 2-27 overall, 2-12 in league matches and 1-11 on the road.  The win gives Eastern Illinois a 17-15 advantage over Morehead State in the all-time series.

Eastern Illinois recorded a .293 attack percentage, including .421 in the final set, while Morehead State was limited to a .165 clip.  The Panthers tallied advantages of 47-33 in kills, 42-30 in assists 56-50 in digs, 7-3 in aces and 9-7 in team blocks.

Junior libero Stephanie Wallace led three EIU players in double-figure digs with 18, while freshman middle hitter Allie Hueston and junior setter Marah Bradbury notched five blocks apiece.  Bradbury also dished out a match-best 38 assists.

Sophomore libero Hope Rillema paced the Eagles with 20 digs, while senior setter Colbey Cameron registered a team-best 25 assists and junior middle blocker Hannah Sigala added four rejections.  No MSU player reached double-figure kills.

Morehead State's final road match, at Eastern Kentucky, is set for Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET.  MSU's last home contest, versus Murray State, is slated for Saturday at 5 p.m.  Cameron, Laura McDermott and Alex Fitzmorris will be honored on Saturday as part of Senior Day.

The Eagles have been eliminated from the OVC Tournament, which takes eight out of the 12 schools.
