MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State junior Angelo Warner and senior Chad Posthumus have been named to College Sports Madness All-Ohio Valley Conference teams for the 2013-14 men's basketball campaign. Warner is a second-team selection, while Posthumus is a third-team choice.
Warner, who has tallied 1,081 points in 95 collegiate games, became the 30th member of Morehead State's 1,000-point club earlier this season. He enters the OVC Tournament with a team-best 17.5 points per contest, which currently places sixth in the league.
A 6-foot-2 guard, Warner also ranks among the conference leaders in steals (3rd, 1.9), free-throw percentage (4th, .827), minutes (5th, 34.7), three-point field goals (13th, 1.7), assists (14th, 3.0), assist-to-turnover ratio (14th, 1.1) and total rebounds (20th, 4.7).
Warner, a native of Orlando, has played 2,586 career minutes and started his last 56 contests at Morehead State. He has posted 57 double-figure scoring performances as an Eagle, including 28 this season, and 11 efforts of 20+ points, including nine this year.
Posthumus has recorded 558 points and 575 rebounds in 64 Division I tilts. He is averaging 4.5 offensive rebounds and 11.3 total boards heading into the OVC Tournament. His offensive rebounds rank second nationally, while his total boards place third.
A 6-foot-11 center, Posthumus has helped Morehead State lead the conference in total rebounds, offensive boards and rebounding margin. The Eagles have only been outrebounded once in 31 contests this year. He is also averaging 10.0 points and 0.8 blocks.
Posthumus, a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, leads the country with 17.3 rebounds per 40 minutes. The Canadian has registered 26 double-figure rebounding performances as an Eagle, including 20 this season, and 28 efforts of 10+ points, including 17 this campaign.
Fourth-seeded Morehead State opens league tournament action in the second round on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET (6 p.m. CT). The Eagles will face the winner of No. 5 Tennessee Tech and No. 8 SIU Edwardsville. All contests will be played at Municipal Auditorium in Nashville.
