MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Morehead State football team ventures south to Jacksonville, Fla., Saturday to take on PFL foe Jacksonville. Kickoff from D.B. Milne Stadium is set for 1 p.m. ET.
The game can be heard live on the Eagle Sports Network and Eagle Empire App and can be seen live on ESPN3.com.
Morehead State is coming off back-to-back shutouts for the first time 1979, and head coach
Rob Tenyer knows Saturday will be another tough task for his defense.
"We will be facing probably the most athletic team with the most speed in the league," he said. "But we are going in with the mindset that we can compete and win."
Jacksonville, which is ineligible for the PFL title this year due to a league-imposed penalty, is still 3-0 and 1-0 in the conference. The Dolphins lead the conference in scoring defense but rank eighth in scoring offense. They pace all PFL teams in passing yardage.
Morehead State ranks second in the conference in passing yards but in the last two contests has rushed for 201 and 159 yards, respectively.
"I am a guy who believes however we can score the most points, that's what we'll do on offense," Tenyer said. "We want to be able to run the ball effectively to set up the pass."
Jacksonville leads the series 10-4 and has won the last nine.
